Managing Food Safety - Online 2025-2026

Overview

This online course covers introduction to food safety, biological hazards, food safety hazards (chemical, physical, allergen), facilities, design and construction, equipment and utensils, control of hazards (from purchasing to service/distribution), cleaning and sanitation, pest control, employee and visitor illness, injury and hygiene, education and training, and program management (HACCP). 

Course Format: This course is offered as an online option.  However, the final exam requires face-to-face invigilation which muct be completed at either NWC's Battelfords or Meadow Lake Campuses. Course cost: Online $90 (this includes the College Invigilation Fee).

In-person: TBD

Course Time: Online self-study, complete at your own time and pace. You can expect to take 6 to 8 hours to complete the course.

How to enroll:

Students can enroll anytime and have access to the content for up to 60 days to complete the course. There are two ways to enroll:

Certification duration: 5 years. Please note: A final test score of at least 70% is required to pass/receive certification.
